KU Macquarie Fields Preschool has celebrated 40 years of providing quality early childhood education and care to local families by holding a community event last week.
The special event was attended by current and former children, families and staff from the preschool, as well as Member for Macarthur, Dr Mike Freelander MP, and Councillor Masood Chowdhury from Campbelltown City Council.
“It was a pleasure to attend the 40th anniversary celebrations for KU Macquarie Fields Preschool this afternoon,” said Dr Mike Freelander on social media.
“For 40 years the preschool and its staff have provided the highest quality early childhood education and care for our local children, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by so many of its current (and former) students today.”
The preschool celebrated the special occasion with an afternoon tea, which included speeches, music and a display of photographs recognising the history of the preschool.
“The event was a celebration of everything the preschool has provided in the ever-changing community of Macquarie Fields,” said KU Macquarie Fields Director, Jackie Staudinger.
“There is such a strong sense of community here. During the celebrations a former student, Lachlan Spears, read the Acknowledgement of Country. One of his parents attended KU Macquarie Fields when they were a child, and the family has been involved with the preschool for 33 years,” said Jackie.
“The number of families and community members that attended provided an unspoken statement of how well KU is received in the community.”
