KU Mayfield Preschool has celebrated their 70th anniversary of providing quality early childhood education and care to local families by holding a ‘Birthday Party’ for the preschool.
“We had a fantastic time celebrating our preschool’s 70th anniversary and it was lovely having our children, families, staff and the wider community come together to celebrate this special occasion,” said KU Mayfield Director, Karen Hugo.
“We had speeches recognising the history of the preschool, we shared morning tea with one another and the children were very excited to take part in a magic show.”
“We are very proud of the positive impact our preschool has had on the local community over the last 70 years and we are looking forward to continuing to provide the best possible start in life for children and families for many more years to come,” said Karen.
The event also provided the opportunity for KU Mayfield to celebrate their recognition as a finalist in the 2018 HESTA Early Childhood Education & Care Awards, which recognised their innovative approach to integrating STEM learning within their curriculum.
“We were honoured to have been named as a finalist by HESTA in their Early Childhood Education and Care Awards this year.”
“At KU Mayfield we have a real passion for STEM learning which we incorporate into our program through play-based learning experiences that are led by the children, such as science experiments, project work and construction, which helps them develop a life-long love of learning,” said Karen.
