The children at KU Ultimo Children's Centre have a brand new outdoor play area, thanks to the help of the Lend Lease Community Day.
The centre's staff and Lend Lease employees worked together to develop several outdoor projects during the Community Day, including a raised vegetable patch, wooden garden beds, an interactive front garden, chairs and a digging patch.
During the construction, the toddlers and preschoolers from the centre helped to plant herbs and flowers along the wooden garden bed, that could later be used for cooking and decorating their playground.
Community Day was established by Lend Lease in 1996 and helps provide employees with an opportunity to make a difference in the community.
The project helped the children to learn the importance of sustainability, team work and maintaining their natural environment.
The KU Ultimo children and staff greatly appreciated the efforts of the Lend Lease volunteers and are looking forward to utilising their new and improved play area.
