KU Bulli Preschool has celebrated the official opening of their new playground by holding a community event on Wednesday 12 June.
Over 100 guests attended the event including children, families and staff from the preschool, Member for Keira, Ryan Park MP, and KU Children’s Services CEO, Christine Legg.
“We were very excited to officially open and reveal our new playground with our preschool community and celebrate with a twilight picnic,” said KU Bulli Director, Michelle Lashbrook.
“We were pleased to welcome six local Elders, including Aunty Jodie who delivered a Welcome to Country and Uncle Richard who performed a smoking ceremony, which were highlights of the event.”
KU Bulli had been looking to upgrade their playground for a few years and the preschool was finally able to make it a reality after many years of fundraising with families and through the support of KU Children’s Services.
“Our playground features the addition of lots of new plants, trees and natural materials, as well as new decking, additions to the cubby house and a dry creek bed.”
“The addition of more natural elements in our playground has made it a more inspiring place for the children to play and will provide them with more sensory experiences that will enrich their learning.”
