NSW Minister for Education, the Hon. Adrian Piccoli MP, has today announced a new Preschool Funding Model for NSW community based preschools, which targets funding to children in the year before school.

The announcement, made at KU James Cahill Preschool, has been welcomed by KU, and will see an additional $150 million preschool funding released to NSW's community-based preschool services from 2014.

"The government's announcement ensures that preschool funding will be delivered to those families who need it most, while continuing to provide accessible preschool for all," Christine Legg, KU Chief Executive Officer said.

"As a provider, the announcement of transitional funding also allows us to adjust to the new funding model over time, meaning none of the families currently enrolled within our preschools will be disadvantaged."
