Overview

Kooinda goes beyond childcare. We create a safe and nurturing environment where childhood is celebrated.

We provide high quality early childhood education and care primarily to University of Newcastle employees, however we are also accessible to staff from affiliates of the university, and to students on a priority of access system.

Our highly experienced and dedicated teachers and educators build strong, trusting relationships with each child, fostering a sense of belonging and confidence.

Located in a natural bushland setting on the University of Newcastle campus, we provide a caring, engaging and inclusive environment for children to play, explore and thrive.

About this service

Our program and approach

When children play and explore, their imagination and curiosity are sparked – they enjoy learning and are inspired to continue learning more.

Our play-based program intentionally provides a wide range of engaging opportunities and activities based on the Early Years Learning Framework.

We have a focus on exploring the natural environment and developing children’s interest in sustainability. Through regular bush and campus walks, investigative projects and nature-based activities, children connect with nature and learn how our actions impact the environment.
