Careers FAQs
Thinking about joining KU? This Careers FAQ page is here to answer the most common questions.
How do I create a great application?
Showcase your skills, qualification and experience, tailoring your application to the role you are applying to. You should proof-read before submitting, the application should be well spaced and easy to read, and free from spelling and grammatic errors. The application should highlight why you have chosen to work in the ECEC sector, and why you want to join us at KU. Be compelling!
How will I know if you have received my application?
When you apply for a role with KU, we’ll email you instantly to confirm that we’ve received your application, and we’ll keep in touch with you every step of the way. If you don’t receive this communication, reach out to us and we can help you.
Should I include a cover letter with my application?
Absolutely! Cover letters are a great way to stand out, highlighting your skills, experience, and philosophy. They can make the difference between a good, and a great application. They should only be a single well-spaced page.
What are certified copies of documents?
These are copies of the original document that have been certified by an acceptable referee and vary between States and Territories. They often include Justices of the Peace (often found at your local Council or library), police officers, and many pharmacists. This is a free service, and to make document authentication streamlined.
What roles do you have available?
We have a wide range of roles available for educators, teachers, service support staff, early intervention, allied health, and a full range of Central Office roles. See new roles available here
What if I have not finished my qualification?
Congratulations on joining our sector! We encourage you to reach out and talk to us about how you are progressing.
Do you accept student placements?
Yes, we do. Students are the future of the early childhood education and care (ECEC) sector, and we proudly invest in developing the next generation of ECEC professionals. Contact your preferred service directly to discuss their ability to assist you with a placement.
What if I am unsuccessful in my application?
Every role is about finding the right person, in the right place, at the right time. If your application did not progress, don’t be disheartened. Feel free to ask your recruiter for feedback, and we hope that you would consider KU as your employer in the future. Check out the “How do I create a great application” FAQ above.
