New KU services to open in Victoria and regional NSW
KU Alumni Connect Summer 2022 Edition
In 2023, KU will be opening KU Manor Lakes North Kindergarten (interim name) in Victoria, and transitioning the full management of Goulburn Pre-school in regional NSW.
Proudly not-for-profit even while expanding our footprint, KU is committed to supporting exceptional outcomes for children and families as well as creating optimal experiences for staff.
Part of the KU difference is the high level of support provided to frontline educators and staff through the expertise of KU’s Central Office teams. These professionals have specialised skills in finance, IT, human resources, marketing and more.
As we deliver leading high quality inclusive play-based learning programs, KU continues to provide opportunities for children to become the creators, thinkers and doers of today and tomorrow.
Scheduled to open in 2023, KU Manor Lakes North Kindergarten (interim name) is located in Melbourne’s south-west, an area managed by Wyndham City Council.
Boasting the highest birth rates in Australia (13 births per day), the Council plans to operate 50 early education services across the Local Government Area (LGA). KU is one of five early educator providers that has been invited to operate services in the Wyndham area.
According to Wyndham City Council’s 2021 Annual Report:
KU’s other Victorian services are KU Dianella Kindergarten (Wyndham Council), Alfred Child Care Centre (City of Melbourne), KU Maidstone Children’s Centre (Maribyrnong City Council), and KU Craigieburn Children’s Centre (Hume City Council).
Goulburn Pre-school was established in 1991 and is one of two early childhood education services in the area. The preschool offers 40 places and has long established relationships within the community. It is respectfully regarded as offering a high-quality preschool program with support for children with additional needs.
Following negotiations that began 2021, KU will assume full responsibility of the service, renaming it KU Goulburn Preschool in 2023.
The motivation behind the transition was succession planning and the ongoing sustainable operations of the preschool. It had previously been operated by a volunteer Management Committee. Goulburn Pre-school Association Inc approved a transfer of management to KU in July 2022 following a Committee vote, effective as at January 2023.
With 130 children already on the waiting list for 2023, KU looks forward to extending our services in regional NSW and building long lasting relationships with children, families and the community in Goulburn.
