About this service

Our program and approach

When children play and explore, their imagination and curiosity are sparked – they enjoy learning and are inspired to continue learning more.

Our play-based program intentionally provides a wide range of engaging opportunities and activities based on the Early Years Learning Framework.

We specialise in the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) Approach, which emphasises respectful and attentive interaction with infants. We focus strongly on building secure relationships, enabling children to develop confidence, feel valued and make positive connections with others.

Family testimonials

“

KU Ultimo parent
“KU is very responsive to the needs of our son and are very flexible. We recently had a new baby and they incorporated new learning about becoming a big brother into his activities. They are also happy to use our cloth nappies, which I appreciate adds a layer of complexity to their day. All of the educators always greet us warmly and ask questions about our family, helping us feel loved and respected by the whole team.”

“

KU Ultimo parent
“The educators always treat our son with love and respect and they all seem to know him well and truly care for him. We love the individualised stories we get about him on Storypark and they always seem to align with what we know of him at home. The educators genuinely appear excited by his achievements and development. We also love the outdoor space of the centre. The fact that all the kids get to spend so much time outside in the natural environment is really important to us.”

“

My boy joined KU Ultimo since Nursery to Preschool, almost every time I pick up him no matter how late, the educators are very patient playing with him happily. Many fun activities built in learning. Much appreciated!

My son went to KU from 11 months to 28 months. They have a lovely outdoor area, with lots of play opportunities for the kids. My son used to love the nursery where he was till he was 24 months. Somehow things didn't work out the way we wanted in the last 4 months and we are taking a break from the place mainly because of child:carer ratios, frequent staff turnover, and hygiene. But I would highly recommend the place nevertheless as I believe each child is different and as a parent we should make a choice based on the individual and not based on a review on Google.
