After months of families having children at home due to COVID-19, KU Ashmont Preschool and Family Centre is finally set to open at the start of Term 3, 2020.
The centre has been renovated and rejuvenated over recent months and, once open, will provide a high quality preschool program for children aged 3-6 years, as well as a range of preschool age-specific Allied Health and NDIS services that will be rolled out over the coming months based on community needs.
“We’re very excited to finally be opening KU Ashmont Preschool and Family Centre,” said KU Children’s Services CEO, Christine Legg.
“We’re looking forward to working closely with the Ashmont community to deliver high quality early childhood education, care and Allied Health services to support children and families in the local community.”
“Having run four preschools in the city for close to 15 years, KU has an established presence in Wagga, and we’re looking forward to welcoming KU Ashmont into the community where we’re confident it will provide and an important and valuable service.”
After the closure of Ashmont Preschool two years ago in June 2018, KU Children’s Services became the new lease holders after Wagga Wagga City Council opened the site to expressions of interest.
The renovations and upgrades have been made possible through a capital grant from the NSW Department of Education Early Childhood Directorate and an investment by KU. Now that the renovations are completed, KU Ashmont is currently awaiting its Service Approval before it starts offering places to families.
Expressions of interest for enrolment at KU Ashmont are now open. To register your interest or to find out more email ku.ashmont@ku.com.au
